Marilyn has spent over 18 years (including the four (4) that she spent at the NBET), advising and mentoring executives in the Ministry, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the electricity industry in the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN), including the regulatory agency, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC). She has testified before the NERC and committees of the executive or the legislative arms of government.

Marilyn has played pivotal roles in the NESI where she is reputed for her unparalleled expertise in economic regulation and compliance; drafting and interpretation of legal agreements, evidentiary processes for permits for regulated businesses, universal system of accounting and deferred payments, rates design, revenue requirements and formulaic reviews, loss of revenue adjustments, long term investments, asset valuations and depreciations, permissions for regulated businesses, rate design and customer classifications.
